Commissions

The Commissions tab displays all commissions related to the current deal and provides a structured view of how they are distributed across beneficiaries.

The tab consists of two main sections:

  • Other Commissions — Includes commissions created from the Income/Outcome tab.

  • Employee’s Commissions — Includes commissions generated automatically when Chartering Managers are assigned in the deal header.

All lists inside the tab follow the same structure as the Commission card fields. Each row represents a commission record with its associated parameters and calculated values.

Calculation Order by Priority

The Priority parameter defines the order in which percentage-based commissions are calculated and applied to the deal’s financial result.

Commission processing follows a strict sequence:

  1. From Gross P&L commissions are calculated first.

  2. From Net P&L commissions are calculated afterward.

Within each group:

  • Commissions are processed in ascending Priority order (1 → 2 → 3 → …);

  • After each step, the remaining financial base is updated;

  • The next commission is always calculated from the reduced base.

Voyage Assignment

Some commissions must be linked to a voyage within the deal.

  • If the deal contains only one voyage, it is assigned automatically.

  • If multiple voyages exist, a voyage must be selected manually.
    Only voyages already included in the current deal are available for selection.

Access Restrictions

Commission visibility and editing permissions depend on the selected Access Level.

  • Users without sufficient permissions may still see the commission entry in lists.

  • Sensitive commission data can be hidden.

Operators

The basic access level available to all users.

Supported configuration:

  • Type → Expenses

  • Calculation Method → Fixed

Operator-level commissions affect the ‘Expenses’ value of the deal and are visible and manageable by all users.

Chartering Managers

An intermediate access level available to users assigned to the Chartering Managers department in the admin panel, as well as users with Shareholder access.

Supported configurations:

  • Type → From Gross P&L

  • Calculation Method → Fixed or Percentage

Chartering Manager commissions are calculated from the deal’s ‘Gross P&L’ and affect the ‘Net P&L’ value of the deal.

Shareholders

The highest access level available only to users with the ‘Allow access to commissions & shareholders’ permission enabled in the admin panel.

Supported configurations:

  • Type → Expenses, From Gross P&L or From Net P&L

  • Calculation Method → Fixed or Percentage

Shareholder commissions can be calculated from ‘Net P&L’, affect the final ‘Deal Result’ value, and provide access to advanced commission configuration options such as ‘P&L Share’ and extended priority-based calculations.
