This section provides a list of terms and conventions used in the Containers Module, complete with detailed explanations and definitions.

  1. Actual Qty

    The current quantity of a particular item or spare part available in the kit.

  2. Baroti (Bay-Row-Tier)

    Coordinates for onboard container positioning in the format XX.YY.ZZ (Bay, Row, Tier).

  3. Container

    A digital representation of a real-world shipping container. It reflects the container’s key properties (e.g., ID, type, ownership, dimensions) and tracks its lifecycle, including leasing, shipping, events, and repairs.

  4. Container Event

    A recorded operation involving one or more containers, such as loading, discharge, repair, or status change. Each event is stored as a separate object with metadata and related container actions.

  5. Container Number (CNTR)

    A unique identifier for the container, consisting of 4 letters followed by 7 digits (e.g., ABCD1234567). The system validates format during creation and renaming.

  6. Lease Agreement

    A reference to the leasing contract under which the container is operated. Populated automatically when the container is in a leased state.

  7. Spare Parts Kit

    A predefined standard set of spare parts that can be applied to a container. Kits are managed in the Spare Parts Kit Manager.
