Rewards

A reward is an informal intent to make a personal payment to an individual or counterparty. It creates a liability from the organization (system user) to the reward recipient.

Think of a reward as a simplified version of an invoice — but created by the organization on behalf of the recipient.

  • Once the reward is created, the organization owes the amount to the recipient.

  • When a payment is made to close the reward, the debt is cleared.

Reward Direction

  1. A reward always has an Incoming direction, since it's considered an accrual in favor of the recipient.

  2. In places where rewards appear in a list of accruals (e.g., when linking to a payment), they are marked as Incoming.

Access Control

Since rewards often involve payments to internal staff and may contain sensitive information, access is restricted. To view rewards in the admin panel, the ‘Access to Rewards’ setting must be enabled for the user.
