Parse Estimate

The Parse Estimate action processes estimate documents and creates related Expenses in the system. This action is available from the More Actions submenu.

Interface Overview

• Left Panel — The uploaded estimate document with standard editor tools and additional toolbar buttons:

  • Estimate

    — changes expense status to Estimated.

  • Approve

    — changes expense status to Approved.

  • Survey

    — changes expense status to Survey and opens a window to select a surveyor from the contact database.

• Right Upper Panel — List of parsed estimates (expenses can be added or removed from the list).

• Right Bottom Section — An expense card of type Estimate with limited visible fields (compared to a regular Expense card). Hidden fields include: Port, Depot, Supplier, Invoice, Invoice Date, Invoice From. The Preview tab is also hidden.

Header Fields Above Expense List

1. Activity Type — Type of expense activity (values from a predefined library).

2. Port — Selected from the port database.

3. Depot — Selected from the contacts database.

4. Supplier — Selected from the contacts database.

5. Remarks — Free text.

Field Application Logic

• Selected values in the header fields are applied to all expenses after pressing

  OK

  .

• Remarks text is appended to existing remarks (if any) in each expense, separated by a new line.

Missed Containers Section

If the system cannot find containers referenced in the estimate, a Missed Containers list appears on the right.

• Includes container numbers not matched in the system.

• Contains an additional

  Copy to Clipboard

  button to copy container numbers.
