Check Bill of Lading Units

The Check BL Units action compares containers loaded at a specific port with those listed in bills of lading for the same voyage and port. This action is available from the More Actions submenu.

Overview of the Check BL Units Workflow

Input Parameters

The window includes two dropdown fields:

  • Voyage: Select from all voyages in the system.

  • POL (Port of Loading): Select a single port from the system’s port library. Once a voyage is selected, the list is filtered to include only ports linked to that voyage.

Clicking the button starts the comparison process for the selected voyage and port.

How the Check Works

After clicking , the system retrieves:

  • All containers listed in Loading Port Calls (terminals) for the selected voyage and port.

  • All containers listed in Bills of Lading issued for the selected voyage and matching the selected POL.

Result Lists

The comparison produces three container lists:

  1. Equal — Containers found both in the voyage and in the bills of lading.

    • If a container appears in multiple bills of lading for the selected voyage, it will appear multiple times in the list and be highlighted in red.

  2. Not On Bills of Lading — Containers included in the voyage but not listed in any bill of lading.

  3. Not On Voyage — Containers listed in the bills of lading but not included in the voyage.

Additional Features

  • Each list has a button that copies container names in plain text, one per line.

  • The label Total N unique containers (displayed under the POL field) shows the number of unique containers in the Equal list.
