Empty Containers

The Empty Containers action creates a bill of lading with the Empty Containers type. Depending on the administrative settings configured in the Cargo module, specific fields are automatically pre-filled.

Pre-filled Fields

Based on the Cargo module configuration, the following fields are filled automatically:

  • Shipper

  • Consignee

  • Notify

  • Shipper Address

  • Consignee Address

  • Notify Address

Configuration Source

The data used for pre-filling is defined in the admin panel under:
General → Settings → Cargo tab → Export / Import subtab.

Direction Logic

When the button is clicked:

  • Direction is set to Import by default.
    In this case, data is taken from the ‘Import’ settings configured in the admin panel.

  • If the user manually changes Direction to Export, the data is reloaded from the ‘Export’ settings.

Printed Form Behavior

For bills of lading with the Empty Containers type, the printed form includes a cargo entry with the description: Empty 40’ ref. Containers.
